Le site officiel de la franchise animée inspiré par le filmGhost in the Shell de Masamune Shirow a dévoilé le 1er trailer et la 1ère affiche du film à venir en 2015.

Kazuchika Kise (réalisateur en chef de Ghost in the Shell Arise) sera réalisateur en chef chez Project I.G., et sera également au chara-design. Tow Ubukata (storyboard Ghost in the Shell Arise) sera au storyboard, et Cornelius se chargera de la musique du film. Kazuya Nomura (réalisateur sur Robotics;Notes, Sengoku Basara – Samurai Kings: The Movie) sera réalisateur, et Tooru Ookubo (Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex key animation) occupera le poste de responsable de l’animation. Le film aura les mêmes seiyuu que Ghost in the Shell Arise, avec également Maaya Sakamoto, Ikkyuu Juku, Kenichirou Matsuda, Tarusuke Shingaki, Shunsuke Sakuya, Takurou Nakakuni, Youji Ueda, Kazuya Nakai, et Miyuki Sawashiro, bien qu’il n’y ait aucun personnage leur étant attribué.
Le film sortira au japon cet été.
