Le manga One Piece d’Eiichiro Oda a remporté la première place du concours de popularité de l’émission Manga Sôsenkyo de TV Asahi. 150 000 personnes ont voté. Il est à noter que TV Asahi est la chaîne nippone qui diffuse les animés populaires des années 90, donc cela a pu aider à sa popularité, même si elle est déjà énorme au Japon.
